What is Rattan?

Rattan belongs to the palm family (Arecales or Palmea). Around 600 species of rattan are known up to this day. Rattan is considered a friendly plant for the forest as it grows much faster than other tropical plants. They are also easy to harvest and do not harm other plants. As a result, planting rattan is good for the environment. Keeping and preserving green environment.

Rattan grows best under some sort of tree cover, including secondary forest. Therefore, rattan indirectly protects tree cover and forest. It has a spine structure that can be useful for climbing over other plants. However, rattan can grow naturally without interrupting the present structure and balancing the rainforest. It starts at the bottom of the forest and can reach a length of up to hundreds of meters long. In general, rattan is useful not only for the forest but also for the atmosphere.
